1- Rage guy (FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU)

Rage guy was one of the first drawn internet memes. He is a very angry (badly) drawn character usually used in a little comics story of 4 scenes to represent all the common situations of life that would make us say “F*CK”: banging one’s foot against the corner of a door, finding an empty cookies box and more… actually pretty much everything.

2- Yo dawg (I herd you like..)

The rapper Xzibit who is the host of the famous MTV show “Pimp my ride” always begins his sentence in the show by ” Yo dawg I heard you like… so we put… in yo car so you can… while you…” when he presents the finished pimped car to the lucky dude who got picked for the show, enumerating what amazing stuff he’s put in the car according to the guy’s tastes. The meme is usually used with hilarious face of Xzibit paired with a the now classic sentence structure ” Yo dawg I heard you like… so we put… in yo car so you can… while you…” and the users just fills in the blanks with stupid random stuff… And it works.

3- Y u no

The Y u no guy meme is originally the face of a random character from the japanese cartoon Gantz who looks utterly confused that was pasted onto a simple white figure, who stands with arms held out in a plaintive, posture looking pained that whoever the subject of his plea is not doing something.

That character was first used on tumblr with the sentence that reads ” I TXT U… Y U NO TXT BAK?!” (I texted you, why have you not texted me back) and was immediately reblogged and liked over 10 000 times.

From this first one, the Y u no meme went viral and hundreds of variations appeared always using the same figure and “Y U NO?” question leading to the funniest sentence ever like ” ANGELINA JOLIE, Y U NO ADOPT ME?” delectable.

It’s that time of the year again, the time when wherever you go you get eye raped by love hearts. That time of the year when you don’t have a love bird to be with you’re supposed to feel like shit and if you have one, then you’re supposed to feel super cuddly lovey-dovey smooch smooch. Well either of the situation you find yourself in, if you do not want to get sucked into a vortex of marshmallow here is a few tips on what you can do :

1-treat & pimp yourself

Yeah I know it’s a big classic of women’s magazine but it works. God dammit woman, go and get this spiky legs waxed, run yourself a bath with some nice scented fizzy stuff in it, pop into your next door’s nail bar for once and go crazy with some Lana del Rey’s claws, do mega body scrub, go for a fish pedi, at least it tickles and with luck it will make you laugh. Or maybe try to do one of those beauty tutorials on youtube instead of watching it blissfully.

2- sip on a coffee cup while reading a book in a coffee shop

Common get out of those PJs, jump in your jeans, grab your favorite book, and go find yourself a cosy coffee place. Nothing feels better than sinking in a outrageously mellow old couch and letting your mind float in the background sound of cup clashing and people chatting.

3- Go for a run

Even if we’re really, REALLY not into sport, we have to admit: it feels really good after a run or a workout session doesn’t it. I won’t pretend to be Pr Well-being or whatever but you know when you do exercise endorphin which is the “feel-good” molecule, is released etc etc.. just like for sex actually.

4-Go to the cinema

When is the last time you actually went to the cinema ?… That’s what i thought, you don’t have the time and me neither. Well for once take the time go to the cinema alone and enjoy it. Choose a movie that YOU like and not one that you see by compromise with your friends/boyfriend. Buy this huge pop corn box on which you always squint and make tons of crunchy noise while the movie. That’s right, fuck’em all.

5 – Bake a cake for your flatmates (and yourself)

Another big feel-good factor is cooking. Isn’t it so satisfying to dip your finger in that delicious chocolate batter that you just made ? And to look at all your flatmates munching on your cake with appetite ? Om nom nom nom

6- Do some karaoke

Either in a karaoke bar asian style or at home in front of singstar with your friends, sing out loud those shitty pop songs that you never dare to sing in front of everyone else. Go ahead break the windows glass, that’s fine, as long as it feels nice.

7- Throw a mega party

Invite everyone you know and you don’t know neighbors included, put some balloons get a piñata, Put on House of Pain and.. jump around.

But as their eponymous 1st record was more balanced around joyful atmosphere, What A Pleasure, their 2011 EP seemed to be carrying much more sad weight on its shoulders. Still aiming at the sky, but with less innocence, sounding like the end of the party, when the sun sets and everybody is already gone !

On the 21st, our friends will be releasing a new 7“, with today’s song Shallow, backed by another one, lesson. Shallow sounds just great. It seems the band has gained energy and faith ! Let’s hope the following full-length, to be released this year will be on the same line !

Who are the artists that inspire you the most?

Artists that I like for the moment are inspiring me and it changes all the time. I am moving very fast in music.

Music that inspired me one month ago might not inspire me the next… I like so much different music and have discovered almost every music style possible over the years. Pop, rock, reggae, rock steady hip hop and soul to electro, disco, 80′s, 60′s, 50′s, 40′s and 30′s music and everything in-between.

Right now I’m very inspired by Lykke Li, the acoustic version of “Sadness is a blessing” is great and her latest album “Wounded Rhymes” is really nice.

What was the song of your childhood?

I was amazed by the song “Never Ending Story” by Limahl. The soundtrack of the movie “The Never Ending Story” which came out in 1984 was my favorite song for a long time when I was a child.  I was in love with the hero Atreyu and identified myself with the princess with no name. It was magic to me. Later when I was 12 I could rap the whole lyrics to “Ice Ice baby” with Vanilla Ice which I learned by heart from a magazine.

What is the best track to party?

Hard question! Changes all the time and especially since I’m a DJ. I get tired of music so fast and what I loved and partied to a couple of months ago feels so done now. For the moment I am obsessed with Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix) followed by other tracks such as Two Door Cinema Club “Something Good Can Work (Ted & Francis remix), “Love Sick” by Lindstrom & Christobelle and “Im good I’m gone” – Lykke Li cover by Friendly Fires.

What do you listen to boost your ego?

To boost my ego I listen to hard and punchy new disco such as Swedish group Jackpot with their tracks “Brief Encounter and “Night Flight”. I put them on really load when I’m in a car driving on the highway at night, a really great feeling…

If you had just one song to save from your iPod?

“Se Telefonando” with Mina from 1966. The most beautiful song ever. The built up, the melancholy, the lyrics, her voice, everything.

Feel shivers and want to cry cause of lost love every time I hear it cause it is so, so great and recalls so much sadness and pain.

I like to torture myself by listening to sad music when I feel really down.

I have done compilations with beautiful and sad songs to guys I loved in the past to explain my feelings and if the guy doesn’t get it and feels the same just by listening to the music, means he will never understand me.

What are your musical guilty pleasures?

I like to listen to “Tarzan Boy” with Baltimora, “Conga” with Gloria Estefan and “I wanna dance with somebody” with Whitney Houston when I am drunk.

What is your favourite song of the moment?

I am totally in LOVE with Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers (Magician Remix)  I am also obsessed with some retro songs such as “Where do you go to my lovely” with Peter Sarstedt and “Your so vain” with Carly Simon. I am listening to music emotionally and take in every single note of the song. I recently discovered while talking to other DJ’s that all people do not listen to music this way.

What should we be listening in the forthcoming weeks?

I must warn you, Dylan Baldi’s piece is dark, full of fear and anxiety, which makes it sometimes hard to listen to, but also immensly beautiful !

No Future / No Past, the 1st track, with its slow and sad tempo, its dark guitar and Baldi’s voice full af anguish and questions, is one of the masterpiece of a great album.

On the era of the 90′s revival, we can see quite a lot of awkward looks trying to pay a tribute to these lost years. Among them is a little nugget of Swedish style and voice called Robyn.

Already super famous in sweden for years, she exploded in UK in 2010 with the single “Dancing on my own”. In that very same year of 2010 she released not less than 3 albums for that matters.
Blond as a wheat field, ice blue eyes, the typical sweet physique of the electro pop singer has stepped out in the crowd of the blue eyed nordic babes thanks to her killer quirky look.
Rather undefinable, her style that some would often put in the fashion faux pas section is a kooky mix of TLC / badass / futuristic craft / 5th element. Besides her short cropped bob and side swept fringe, her trade mark are her enormous platform timberlands that her stylist Dedica custom made for her. She usually puts herself in a pair of super shiny leggings covered in prints adds a row of 3 or 4 belts, pairs it with a short cropped top and a bomber or a denim jacket. She finishes by lightening her fine features and short haircut with a pair of chunky earrings.

Often funny and twisted, always inspiring Robyn’s style is on a highway to fashion fame.

2. Romeo + Juliet

What is worse in a love story than your whole family hating your lover ? And it’s even worse when it’s reciprocal. Take a young and sexy Leo and Claire Danes to embody this cornelian situation and BAM you have one of the best love stories of all times.

3. Baby and Johnny
(Cry Baby)

She is a sweet and  naive girl from a middle class bourgeois background, he is a broke and hot as hell dance instructor in a holiday camp. She is supposed to marry a doctor, he is supporting his dance partner who just had an abortion and though they’re gonna fall for each other just with a few hips moves and a couple of watermelons.

4. Edward and Vivian
(Pretty Woman)

The opposite scenario works as well, he is a lost wealthy businessman, she is a beverly hills prostitute. He is as serious and uptight as she is bold and extravagant. They are going to spend a week together and fall in love. ding dong. Everyone will remember the anthology scene with the rainbow of condoms.

5. Henry the 8th and Anne Boleyn

The worst case of all the love stories, when your own lover the king of England have you beheaded to marry a new queen. Oh well..  at least you made into history didn’t you ?

Brother Brain is a collection of unique and lovely animated gifs inspired by our favorites retro 8-bit video games. New take on the Exorcist.

We’ve all watched Disney movies. Some of us may have been marked more than the others by them. I’m one of those people, who adore to watch them over and over again and never get tired of it. Which is why I’ve come to determine a top 10 of the greatest not only to my taste but also to all the grown up kids out there.

1-    THE SWORD IN THE STONE

it’s an old one but the whole movie is hilarious from the rachitic wolf to Archimède the grumpy owl, every character is simply hilarious.

2-    THE LITTLE MERMAID

made me wish to have a pet Caribbean and red hair. Oh and a shell bra of course.

3-    LADY AND THE TRAMP

that opening scene with the puppy in the pink hatbox was one of the sweetest opening scene on a screen ever.

4-    THE JUNGLE BOOK

Because the King Louis’s song makes me swing and dance invariably. Every single time.

5-    THE LION KING

My first true weeping moment in front of a movie: Mufasa’s death.

6-    CINDERELLA

Because the moment when the mice sew the dress for the ball made me love fashion more than Karl.
