Diesel Fragrance factory: Who are the artists that inspire you the most?
Paul Armand-Delille: Serge Gainsbourg: Sex Shop. He knows how to write sleazy and poetic lyrics. The melodies are always elegant.
The velvet underground:Sunday Morning. Candid beauty & nostalgia for one of there first tracks.
Caribou: melody day. A genuine explosion of creativity and enthusiasm that reminds of the best of the 60s
AIR : la femme d’argent. Perfect aesthetics and production. AIR blends great references and uses all kinds of amazing retro synths. This band remains one of my main influences.
DFF: What was the song of your childhood?
PAD: A lot of music from the cartoons i watched still haunts me. A lot of Disney soundtracks: Alice in wonderland, Junglebook etc…
Also my mum used to play thriller when I was five. I can still remember the wolf howl in the intro gave me amazing chills.
DFF: What is the best track to party?
PAD: As a DJ, that’s a really hard question. A lot come to mind. If I had to choose one, well maybe LA woman from the Doors. Maybe Wipeout, or jailhouserock by Elvis, or The next episode by Snoop… Or some LCD soundsystem. I really can’t choose. In fact, it all depends on the mood of the room. There are so many kinds of parties and so many amazing tracks. it’s all about finding the right track for the right crowd.
DFF: What do you listen to boost your ego?
PAD: MGMT – Time to pretend
DFF: If you had just one song to save from your iPod?
PAD: Tchaikovsky – Sugar plumb fairy
DFF: What are your musical guilty pleasures?
PAD: Some really lame French 80s songs. Bands like Niagara
DFF: What is your favourite song of the moment?
PAD: Heavy Trash – That’s what your love gets
Th Darkside – The liminianas
DFF: What should we be listening in the forthcoming weeks?
PAD: Always follow the blog bigstereo for some good dance music.
